Financing, Doing BOT and BOO project
Description
At Matrix, we don’t just finance water and wastewater projects; we help bring them to life from concept to completion, using the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) and Build-Own-Operate (BOO) models. Our approach integrates technical expertise, financial structuring, and operational oversight to ensure long-term success and sustainability.

Our Full-Service Process
1️⃣ Project Identification & Feasibility
Collaborate with municipalities, industrial clients, or developers to identify infrastructure needs.
Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies.
Analyze water demand, environmental impact, and technology requirements.
2️⃣ Financial Structuring & Investment Sourcing
Design the financial model: CAPEX, OPEX, ROI, IRR.
Identify risks and structure mitigation mechanisms (e.g., guarantees, insurance).
Secure funding through a mix of private equity, development banks, and institutional investors.
3️⃣ Contract & Legal Framework
Draft and negotiate project agreements including:
Concession contracts (for BOT)
Off-take agreements
Operation & maintenance contracts
Ensure legal compliance with local and international regulations.
4️⃣ Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC)
Select and manage qualified EPC contractors.
Supervise the design, procurement, and construction phases.
Ensure quality control, safety, and timeline adherence.
5️⃣ Operation & Management
Operate the facility under agreed terms (typically 10–30 years).
Ensure performance, efficiency, and compliance with discharge or potable water standards.
Employ digital tools and automation for smart water network management.
6️⃣ Transfer or Continue Operation
In BOT: Transfer ownership to the public sector at the end of the concession period in excellent condition.
